Eligible individuals will receive $600 ($1,200 for a married couple) plus $600 for each qualifying child. Eligibility phases out for families with 2019 adjusted gross incomes above $150,000 ($75,000 single). Nonresident aliens and dependents are not eligible.
When will the payments be sent out? Criticism of the legislative compromise by the President has sown confusion leaving the nation in suspense. Will he veto the bill or will he sign it, or will he refuse to do either? Will there be an increase in the payment amounts? It may take some time for this drama to play out.
